Reds Community Fund Work Continues
On August 4, some 500 volunteers from companies across the region descended on Lincoln Heights for the Community Makeover Day, part of the Reds Community Fund work in the Village. They performed all manner of renovations and upgrades to greenspace, playgrounds and interior spaces throughout the Village. It was an amazing display of hard work, dedication…and kindness.
While the Community Makeover was a highlight of the Reds Community Fund efforts in the Village, it was by no means the end of the commitment. The Reds – along with their partners from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, Procter & Gamble and General Electric – will continue work on a variety of projects throughout the Village.
At the Memorial Athletic Field Complex, for example, work continues on the gateway, irrigation, walking path and landscaping. Fencing is still going up around Serenity Park. The new “mother’s room” at The Healthcare Connection – Lincoln Heights Health Center is just getting underway.
When they say “Makeover”, they mean it. Their commitment is far from just a moment in time. The residents and leaders of the Village appreciate it!
